Recovery and marketing of gas at the Asuokpu/Umutu Marginal Field – Registered: (Platform Petroleum and Newcross Petroleum)

Brief

This CDM project is the first to capture gas from a marginal producer in Nigeria. This project compresses gas currently flared at the Asuokpu/Umutu oil field in the Delta and transports it to the NAOC Kwale gas system. This gas will provide fuel for electricity generation. The estimate carbon credits range from 200,000-400,000 tCO2 annually.
