Carbon-Limits Nigeria (CLN) specializes in climate solutions, including mitigation and adaptation actions, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) projects, and comprehensive Decarbonisation Strategies. CLN has worked with national and international companies to reduce emissions of over 10,000,000 tonnes of CO2e in Nigeria.
Dr. Ogundare started his professional career in the Health Sciences in Nigeria and subsequently, in the United Kingdom and the United States. Following his advanced education and Board Certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and appointment as an Attending Physician/ Assistant Professor at New York University and related hospitals in New York City, he transitioned to the Energy Sector with Newcross group and Pan Ocean Oil Corporation, where he has risen to an executive management level in the energy sector.
He has supported the aspirations of Newcross, towards becoming an indigenous exploration and production company highly focused on reserve addition; and with assets ranging from exploration to producing assets and strategic investments in gas processing and crude oil transportation in Nigeria. Recently, he supported the organization’s expansion via NewX, a subsidiary, on its growth aspirations in the non-fossil fuel energy interests, and its drive to transition to a data- guided organization.
He is a co-founder and Partner in Carbon Limits Nigeria, with over twenty years’ experience in the health sciences and corporate environment, and with interests across multiple energy sources, his current focus is building an integrative ecosystem for energy companies to meet future demand sustainably.
Torleif has throughout his career with national & international government institutions and consultancies broad experience in energy and environmental analysis and advisory services, as well as institutional management. He has managed many multi-disciplinary and complex projects, primarily for multilateral development agencies and banks, national governments and large energy corporations. His focus since 2005 has been on climate change mitigation for the oil and gas industry, including activities related to transactions in emissions allowances and carbon credits. Torleif is co-founder of Carbon Limits AS, Carbon-Limits Nigeria Ltd and ICA-Finance AS.
‘Gbite Adeniji is an energy and natural resources lawyer specializing in policy, regulatory, and commercial issues. He has advised the Nigerian government on sector reforms and major projects, including the Flex Floating LNG Project, West African Gas Pipeline, and the Nigerian Gas Masterplan.
From 2015 to 2018, he served as Senior Technical Adviser (Upstream and Gas Policy) to the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, leading key reforms such as the National Gas Policy, National Petroleum Policy, and the Nigerian Gas Flare Commercialisation Programme (NGFCP).
He has also consulted for the World Bank on Nigeria’s petroleum sector reform and mining policy. A frequent speaker and writer, he contributes to the development of Nigeria’s energy and infrastructure sectors.
Arild Nerdrum, a Norwegian serial entrepreneur and board member, was born in London and educated at Westminster School, Académie Commerciale in Paris, and INSEAD. He began his career in banking, training at Bank Leu before joining Scotiabank in 1972. He led Scotiabank’s Scandinavian Representative Office in Oslo, focusing on shipping, oil and gas, and pulp and paper, later becoming head of the bank’s global Shipping Department in London.
In 1979, he co-founded Interocean Trading within Atlas Shipping Group, later transitioning to activist investing in Norway. He took strategic positions in companies like Helly Hansen and Scanvest Ring AS, facilitating major acquisitions. In the late 1980s, he pursued property ventures in the UK and Portugal, including Monte Rei Golf and Country Club.
He co-founded Caverdale Group in 1991, listing it on the LSE, before selling its car business in 1997. Returning to shipping in 2002, he led Caspian Maritime, which aimed to build large oil tankers but faced geopolitical challenges.
In 2007, motivated by climate concerns, he co-founded Fjord Capital Partners, investing in companies like Tesla and Iberwind. He also became a director at Carbon Limits. In 2016, he entered the space industry, advising firms like Helios Wire, which he helped sell to EchoStar in 2019.
